Baby smiles

We have started to get lots of baby smiles, and not just from gas :)
Please enjoy the many looks of Mr. Hudson Graham (not Grandma)

Forget everything I just said.

Forget everything I just said below.
I made it 3 days ( that should count for something!).
Happy babies = Happy Mommy!
Don't judge.

The end of an era

The time has finally come.  Pediatricians warned us, his dentist warned us, but we didn't listen.
We let this boy have his Paci's for entirely too long.
There was always a good excuse as to why "now" wasn't a good time.
"Oh, we've just moved, it would be too much change."
"Oh we have a really long flight to Italy, we'll do it after the trip."
"Oh, definitely when he turns 2!"
"There's a new baby coming, it would traumatize him."

Enough with the excuses.  Either he was going to be walking into high school with a duckie hanging out of his mouth, or his teeth would be in braces for 15 years to fix all the damage.

Now is as good a time as ever.
We did it!!!
Cold turkey.

We packed them up in a box together and said the Paci Fairy was going to come and get them that night.  In place she left lots of goodies!

Night 1: Super rough (on little man and mommy.) Solid hour of crying (screaming,)  yelling "I don't see one, I don't see one," in the most helpless little voice.

It's been a roller coaster of emotions for my once awesome little sleeper.  Sometimes he still goes down crying, other days he goes down happily and wakes up sad looking for paci.

I've secretly thought a few times, "Oh, I'll just give it back for a bit, what would be the harm..."  but I haven't broken down yet.  I'm staying strong, barely :(

Goodbye Paci's, we'll miss you (like a lot!)

Ninga arm

Everyone has talents, some just take a little longer to discover.
A new one it my book...Ninja arms.
There's something that happens when I sit down to nurse Hudson.
Things start flying at us; matchbox cars, balls, crayons, firetrucks... they just start flying towards us.  That's when my Ninja arms get kicked into high gear.
Swat left, swat right, block in the front, you get the idea.

I know this is all just a part of the jealously game.
It's hard for a 2 year old to understand why Mommy has to stop everything we're doing
100 times a day and feed this new little baby.

So until we can fix the problem,
Ninja Mom is here keeping Hudson's little noggin' safe and sound.

Cleaning Man

He's a cleaning kind of man.

Me: "Nolen, what do you want to do today?"
Nolen: "Go to the broom store."
Me: "Are you sure you don't want to go to Disney and see Mickey?"
 Nolen: "Broom store"

I wish that brooms, mops, and dustpans brought as much joy to me,
but whatever brings a smile to that sweet little face!

Clean away little man, clean away!

1 month old (Hudson)

Everyone told me time flies even faster with the 2nd, did I believe them, kind of...
but seriously WoWzErS!

I won't lie, things have been a bit crazy around our household. It hasn't been all puppies and rainbows. I can finally say that at this point, things are smoothing out and falling right into place.
Mommy has learned that she can do almost anything one-handed, with a baby on the boob!
Having 2 is literally twice the work, but it's also twice the fun, and twice the love <3
Hudson, you are such a sweet baby.

If you were an only child I would snuggle you 24 hours a day.
I can already tell what a laid back, go-with-the-flow kind of person you are.

You are SUCH a good sport with all of big brothers "love" that he gives you.

Liars

Hudson unfortunately had his first flight a little sooner then planned this weekend. We flew up north for my Mamaws funeral :-(

With the last minute flight we had to pay an arm and a leg for our tickets. We thought Nolen was close enough that we could still pass him off as under 2 ( aka no ticket needed.)

Well I think we definitely were pushing our luck this time, I don't think they believed us. Maybe it was the fact that when they asked him how old he was he proudly shouted "Nolen is two!" or maybe it was the complete sentences he was speaking as he told the ticket agent a story. Or perhaps when he counted perfectly to 14. All I know is that this was definitely his last free flight.
